POWERING INNOVATION THROUGH ENGINEERING
BIO
Tyler Susko, PhD
Dr. Susko's expertise is in mechanical design, motion control, mechatronics, robotics, human/machine interaction, research and rehabilitation device design. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Business and Engineering from Lehigh University. At MIT, he designed, fabricated and tested a new form of robotic gait therapy, called the MIT Skywalker (seen above and in this video). Prior to his PhD, Tyler worked as a design engineer at Ingersoll Rand where he designed the award winning W7150 cordless impact wrench and a variety of parts for all-terrain vehicles and golf carts. Currently, he is a mechanical engineering design professor of teaching at UC Santa Barbara.
INGERSOLL RAND W7150
2010
The Ingersoll Rand W7150 was developed to be the most powerful cordless impact wrench ever made which garnered massive attention and adoption. The product and the 4.6/5 stars can be seen on Amazon.
MIT SKYWALKER
2015
The MIT Skywalker is a novel robotic environment to deliver walking therapy to populations with neurological injury such as stroke, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis.
